We need some sort of new category to deal with this--not a speedy candidate, but obviously deletable. Vanity joke listing. Meelar (talk) 17:04, Oct 28, 2004 (UTC)
- Of course it's a speedy candidate, and I've changed it accordingly -- to give a further couple of minutes consideration before it goes for good. Deb 17:12, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- I disagree. While clearly a delete candidate, I don't see what criteria at wp:csd this falls into. And the creeping expansion of speedy delete is something to be avoided. Meelar (talk) 17:14, Oct 28, 2004 (UTC)
- Agree on creepy-speedy, but this falls under patent nonsense: "physiciatrist", "green...and I'll second that". — Delete for sure, and I say Speedy. Bill 19:53, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- I also disagree about it being a speedy and I agree with Meelar (talk). The criteria for speedies are and should be extremely narrow and should be adhered to punctiliously, because speedies are effectively actions a) by a single sysop that are b) not subject to review by anybody but sysops. Probably the most relevant category is Wikipedia:Patent nonsense, and I don't think it is.
- I disagree with both you and Meelar. There is nothing stopping a speedied article from being unspeedied, or even recreated with a talk page explaining why it shouldn't be speedied again, or whatever. We are wasting time on nonsense like this. Obvious jokes and pranks should be deleted. -Vina 20:26, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- They should be deleted, but according to current policy as I read it, they are not speedy deletion candidates. If you think they should be, add "obvious jokes and pranks" to the list on Wikipedia:Candidates for speedy deletion and see what people think about it. - Delete. Joke, prank, vanity, unverifiable. Dpbsmith (talk) 18:05, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Delete: Obvious joke. One more for my long mourned early deletion scheme. Geogre 20:13, 28 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Delete looks like a speedy to me under 3 different criteria (1,3,&4) of the policy in Wikipedia:Candidates for speedy deletion. Wolfman 04:19, 29 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Speed deleted as patent nonsense. Wile E. Heresiarch 05:58, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)
