Complete Discog
[edit]Would anybody else be up for collaborating on a complete discography for every HWM release? Including every pressing, color, number of copies, release date, etc. Gainesvillebandpage.com (gristlejaw as I knew him) used to keep a very concise record of everything No Idea (and other labels) released by HWM. I'm sure there is still a demand for this sort of information, plenty of people (myself included) have collected HWM vinyl. This info needs to be available somewhere, so perhaps if others are interested in collaborating, we can combine information. I have some pressing information, though it is a few years out of date. Perhaps No Idea would cooperate and dig through their pressing archives. Again, if you're interested in helping or just interested seeing pressing info, say something here.

Bukowski's book
[edit]It is named after the book. I read somewhere that one of the band members (I think it was Chris Wollard, but I wouldn't put my mortgage on it) had the book in his hand when the band were still searching for a name, and said "how about that?". The other band members agreed on it. The "logo" that Hot Water Music use (a picture of a flame, over water waves, over the word "music") was also taken from the front cover on the book, which had the Arabic symbols for fire, water, and the word "music" beneath it written in Arabic. Scott Sinclair aka SINC, an artist (as in a drawing artist) and friend of the band redesigned the two symbols for them and put the word "music" at the bottom written in English.
Band break up
[edit]I don't think it should be finalized that the band no longer exists, because there are differing stories. For example, in an interview, Chuck says "We're not going to be the hardcore road warriors that everybody knows us to be, [...] God willing it will most definitely happen. I love those guys more than anything and I would love to be standing on a stage, 60 years old trying to what we've been doing. So it's kind of one of those things where we're all family and it's just a transition period." But Jason Black says "We had been talking about taking a break with Hot Water for a while and we toured very little on Caution, where we would have done more tours and kind of finishing up the cycle. And so that didn’t really happen. We only really did two and a half tours." Further, Chuck also said, in a different interview, that "My friends, Hot Water Music as we all knew it is no longer. A great chapter in our lives has come to a close. We must say so long, and farewell. This is not to say by any means that we will never take a stage again together or find our way onto some tracks together, but where we are in our lives at this moment, it won't be anytime soon." So I think the whole situation is more of a hiatus than a break up. Just because it's so confusing.
spritzy
[edit]Is "spritzy" and encyclopedic word? I'm totally gay, and I'm not even sure its a real word ad 8:32 11-11 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.62.33.207 (talk) 01:32, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

Very out of date
[edit]This article seems really out of date with text talking about upcoming releases that have now been out for 10 years and most of the lede is about the band breaking up in the early 2000's. Any objection to me doing a bit of updating? I haven't technically been involved with the band since the mid 90's so I think there is enough distance and I really just want to make the text more current and remove the dated references.
