Mordechai Vanunu Dr. Prefix

[edit]

As mentioned on Talk:Mordechai Vanunu, adding the "Dr." prefix would be inconsistent with the articles about Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Kofi Annan, Vaclav Havel, Buzz Aldrin, George W. Bush and others. Do you think the Mordechai Vanunu article should be inconsistent with those other pages, or would you support adding the "Dr." prefix in the same manner to the Clinton, Gates, Annan, Havel, Aldrin and Bush articles, as well as to the biography of anyone else who was awarded an honorary doctorate? And as mentioned on the talk page, there is no policy for this. Bill Clinton and Kofi Annan are not known for their honorary degrees, and they have a lot of titles. However, in the Vanunu case it makes sense to include this one title. I am suspicious of your motives for removing the title. /Sjaim

Vanunu is not known for his honorary degree either. While there might be no policy, I have yet to see a biography on Wikipedia doing this for somebody whose only doctorate is an honorary one. Saying something "makes sense" doesn't help me see why it makes sense. To me, it doesn't make sense to include the title in the Vanunu case more than it makes sense to include it in the Gates case. Please explain it to me. Timtzeptel 18:24, 22 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Sjaim! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 710 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
