TLDR
[edit]After noticing some random vandalism on the Altered Carbon tv series article,[1] and looking at the many long discussions above I was wondering what it was all about. In short, Richard K Morgan seems to have drawn the ire of activists by supporting JK Rowling. Morgan has written an explanation of his point of view on his own website.[2] -- 109.79.86.10 (talk) 01:20, 10 July 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks for clarifying. As you can see from the history of this article, it is also being consistently vandalized. Kudos to all of those people combating it. --Ian Korman (talk) 04:11, 10 July 2020 (UTC)
- So sad this page has been tampered with. I've created a new lead section with citations to his awards and moved the random quote that someone interjected at the top. Lizzytomtom (talk) 01:38, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
- Should the article cover that Morgan was eventually banned from Twitter? As of Feb 2023 he has not been reinstated. Morgan's account of how this came about is detailed here and here. His twitter account was https://twitter.com/quellist1 as per his Goodreads profile. 137.205.213.211 (talk) 12:00, 24 February 2023 (UTC)
- The problem is it's not (AFAIK) covered in any reliable sources and the reasons for it are 'controversial'.
- We can argue that the fact that he was banned isn't disputed, but we can't start saying why he was banned unless there's a reliable source. Morgan's own blog is not a reliable source for anything 'controversial' about himself, such as why he was banned.
- Also, FYI, the last time we discussed whether to include Morgan's (arguably) TERF views and his Twitter ban in the article it degenerated into death threats. I'm not joking. Shimbo (talk) 00:54, 25 February 2023 (UTC)
