Unsolved problems in science template
This is the "unsolved problems in science" template. It can be added to articles relating to such problems. This template floats to the right and should normally be added to the top of a paragraph mentioning the problem.
Usage
To use this template add this code to an article:
{{unsolved|F|X}}
Where "F" is any field in the sciences: and "X" is a concise "explanation" with or without links.
For instance like this:
{{unsolved|computer science|One-way functions are [[function (mathematics)|functions]] that are easy to compute but hard to invert. Can [[one-way function]]s be proved to exist?}}
If you are including this template in an article which mentions in passing an unsolved problem that is dealt with more completely in another article, you should include a third parameter (use any nonblank descriptive text such as "don't categorize" or "passing mention", be sure not to include a pipe character "|") so that the article where this appears is not included in the "unsolved problems in F" category. For instance, the cryptography article mentions one-way functions but cryptography itself is not properly described as an "unsolved problem", so it would use this template like this:
{{unsolved|computer science|One-way functions are [[function (mathematics)|functions]] that are easy to compute but hard to invert. Can [[one-way function]]s be proved to exist?|Don't categorize}}
