- The history of the original MCI is at MCI Communications. This article is about company is the one originally known as LDDS, and later known as WorldCom, which bought the original MCI in 1998, briefly became known as "MCI WorldCom" before phasing out the MCI part of the name (becoming simply WorldCom again), only to be exposed as having engaged in massive accounting fraud, leading to bankruptcy reorganization after which the tainted WorldCom name was dropped and the MCI name reused for the remaining company until it was bought by Verizon in 2006. It's two articles for two different companies. oknazevad (talk) 01:10, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
