Talk:Claudius Civilis
Appearance
The reason for redirect is onomastic: if Civilis was a Julius, like Tacitus says and i believe him, he could not ever be a Claudius. Julius was the name adopted by romanized german in the time of Augustus and Caesar. Claudius was the name they adopted in the reign of Tiberius and his descendants. Civilis belonged to this first wave. Muriel Gottrop 17:39, 8 Aug 2003 (UTC)
