This article should also include the Chinese element, which is not synonymous with the Western element. Courtland 03:08, 2005 Mar 14 (UTC)

Fall?

[edit]

Wait... I could've sworn water was attributed to winter. AncientNova 03:21, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, I believe Earth is related with Winter, at least in regard to the Western classical elements. As for with the Eastern classical elements, water may be related with winter, although I've heard both water and metal used interchangibly as symbols of winter.66.24.224.205 03:44, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, in ancient Greece, water was also associated with winter. This association with fall is a recent invention of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.24.107.44.119 06:29, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Flood or Blood?

[edit]

Does this quote have bad grammar (flood = flooding), or a typo (flood = blood)? (Or is there another possibility I haven't named?)

"Water is one of the five Chinese elements. It is associated with the planet Mercury, the north and winter, and the colour black. Water is "black" because in fact it represents flood."

Aleta 07:13, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In any case, I changed it to "flooding."24.107.44.119 08:29, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wiccan Tradition Section

[edit]

Could any Wiccans visiting this page please improve the section on Wiccan tradition? Even with recent additions, it still pales in comparison with the similar section in the Air (classical element) article. The section there should be used as a guide. 67.160.13.15 05:07, 22 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
