untitled
[edit]Canada's parliamentary website [www.parl.gc.ca] lists Willis as having been a First Nations MP. There does not appear to be any other corroborating evidence to support this claim, however -- and the parliamentary site has been known to make mistakes on MP information.
The parliamentary guide lists Errick Willis's father, R.G. Willis, as Irish on both sides of his family. His mother was one Ellah French, the daughter of Henry French (who appears to have been a recent arrival in Manitoba from Hastings County, Ontario). If Errick Willis was aboriginal, it would have had to have been from his mother's side of the family -- and there doesn't appear to be any evidence leading to this conclusion.
Does anyone have information to suggest that Errick Willis's mother was aboriginal or Metis? CJCurrie 18:04, 26 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Assessment
[edit]I have assessed this as Start Class, as it contains more detail and organization than would be expected of a Stub, although it is completely unreferenced. I have assessed this as low importance as I do not feel many people outside of Canada would be familiar with the subject of this article. Cheers, CP 21:00, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
