Should 'Piranesi' be a link to 'Giovanni Battista Piranesi'? Tom Huckstep 17:43, 29 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Yes - now fixed (listed [1]) -- Solipsist 17:52, 29 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Presumably they dont allow interior photography? Its quite annoying this, there are lots of places (like Kenwood that I have worked on) where there are lots of exterior pictures, old plans, even pictures of the paintings, but there is no way of showing the interiors. I was wondering about trying to negotiate with English Heritage for Kenwood (perhaps when the article is better), but I am not sure that they will agree. Justinc 13:25, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sir John Soane's Museum can allow photography, if you apply for permission beforehand with sufficient understanding, persuasiveness, and I suppose courtesy. This can take time. I think it costs money, and if it does not then a contribution would be appropriate. I live a very long way away and thus applying for permission is impracticable for me.
But would photos be of any value? After all, the place is a museum, and as a museum it's of low importance. That's what's written above, anyway; and who am I to argue? That Kishin Shinoyama (for example) has produced an entire book full of photographs of its interior must be some kind of aberration. -- Hoary (talk) 15:14, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
as a wikipedia article about museums, it's of low importance. not as a museum. anyway, there are very few pictures that could be taken that don't require flash, and the house is covered in artwork - not sure they'll be too happy about pictures of it being in public (regardless of lifetime copyright expiry etc.) ninety:one 16:09, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What is "(until Summer 2011)" in the article? A particular exhibition? Exhibitions in general? Access to No 12? Deipnosophista (talk) 09:06, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
