Wikipedia talk:Today's featured article/September 29, 2004
I am seriously concerned about this being on the front page. Firstly, it has no references - and this is most definitely an article that needs some references. There must be plenty of information out there that people have used to contribute to this article. Without the references, I jsut don't see how we're showing that we are based on integrity when it comes to citing sources. Also, the page redirects to Adoption in Rome... but only refers to Adoption in Ancient Rome. Why was this changed? That doesn't make sense as the article doesn't talk about modern Rome and adoption! Until these things can be sorted out, could we not use this as a front page article? - Ta bu shi da yu 13:43, 28 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- References were not a featured article criteria until very recently; and, while raising the bar for featured articles is typically a good thing, it is generally not meant to be retroactive. →Raul654 19:39, Sep 28, 2004 (UTC)
