[edit]I was just researching the claim of James Cagney being born on Ave D. This book instead states the he was born on East Eighth. Thus removing claim from the article. Will (talk) 20:32, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
- It says clearly that he wa sborn on the corner of Easth 8th and Avenue D, so restoring it. Beyond My Ken (talk) 03:07, 31 March 2017 (UTC)
- The direct quote from the book is (emphasis mine): "It has been reported that James Cagney Jr. Was born in an apartment over his father's saloon at the corner of East Eighth and Avenue D, New York. This is not so. Cagney was born - on July 17, 1899 - in a small apartment on the top floor of a conventional brownstone at 391 East Eighth. His father would aquire the saloon years later..."
