grand slam titles
[edit]I think he has won 8 grand slam titles - NOT 7 as it says in the text. However; only 7 of them was in singles. --Kricke
Birth location
[edit]Birth location changed from Moheda to Växjö. Why? If I'm not mistaken he was born in Torpsbruk in Moheda Perish. He grew up in Växjö. See the Swedish article. Kricke 21:28, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
Masters
[edit]He actually didn't win any Masters Series titles. The Masters Series didn't come into existence until 1990. Those events were Grand Prix events beforehand.
Request for wider input on discussion at WikiProject Tennis
[edit]There is a long, ongoing discussion at WP:Tennis about the tournament tables found in tennis articles on English-language Wikipedia (e.g., this type of table). The discussion is about whether the "official sponsored name" of a tournament - such as Pacific Life Open - or another tournament name without the sponsor - such as Indian Wells Masters - must be used in those articles. Please join the discussion here. Thanks. Tennis expert (talk) 09:27, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
'win/loss record single year in Majors' record...
[edit]Wilander's match win/loss record in a single year in Majors of 96.2% (25/1)in 1988 is NOT a record and neither is Djokovic's in 2011.
Federer had a match win/loss record of 27/1 in Majors in 2006 which equates to 96.4%.
Unless I'm incorrect, this needs to be changed... — Preceding unsigned comment added by MiniFats01 (talk • contribs) 00:29, 2 November 2011 (UTC)

Grand Slam singles titles on three different surfaces
[edit]While Wilander may be one of a select group of people there is no clarification as to the period in which this achievement was possible to attain. As it refers to Grand Slam tournaments only (not all Majors) then it was only possible from 1978 (year US Open was played on hard courts). This should be noted, otherwise it could be mis-interpreted as including a period that far exceeds that which it relates to. Antipodenz (talk) 08:30, 28 September 2021 (UTC)
