Orlando v Jacob's Creek

[edit]

Regarding a recent change made to the winery list, there is no physical 'Orlando' winery in the Barossa Valley (the closest is the Orlando Wyndham estate in NSW's Hunter Valley, there is however a Jacob's Creek Winery which is owned by the Orlando Wyndham Group and is considered Orlando's #1 winery. Posted 21:00, June 12, 2005 by Oliyoung

Please note that there is a physical 'Orlando' winery in the Barossa Valley winery known as Orlando Wines, located in Rowland Flat, South Australia. This winery is often incorrectly called Jacob's Creek Winery, probably due to the large volumes and international exposure of its flagship wine brand Jacob's Creek. The edit you reverted was actually correct. Please see the article Orlando Wines for more details. Scharks 03:03, 14 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Needs map

[edit]

This article needs a map. Badagnani 05:48, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed - I added the Infobox Australian place template, which includes a map. I'm not sure which definition of 'Barossa Valley' we're using - so showing the borders of the region is a bit tricky. Possibilities might be:

  • Barossa Council area (though this would exclude some towns which are commonly held to be 'in the Barossa Valley', such as Greenock).
  • Barossa Region appellation area (though this is wine-focused, and might be better suited to the Barossa Valley (wine) page.
  • Barossa Valley appellation area (again wine focused, but geographically confined to the valley, rather than the 'population region').
